Bedouins FC
Bedouins FC was an English amateur football club formed in 1868 and based in England during the early 20th century. It was not a professional club but rather an amateur side, often made up of players from public schools and universities, particularly from Oxford and Cambridge. The team played in friendly matches and various amateur competitions. During this era, it was quite common for footballers to play for multiple clubs. The sport was still in its formative years, with less rigid structures and regulations compared to modern football. Players often moved between teams, sometimes even representing multiple clubs within a single season. For example, Charles Wollaston played for several clubs, including Oxford University, Lancing Old Boys, Wanderers, and Clapham Rovers.
Bedouins F.C. was more of a "nomadic" team—hence the name— and like other “wandering” amateur sides (such as the Corinthians, Wanderers, Gitanos or Casuals), Bedouins FC was part of a tradition that emphasised sportsmanship, fair play, and playing for the love of the game rather than financial reward.
Little more is known about the elusive Bedouins FC. However, there is a club listed with the same name as playing in the FA cup in 1931-32, 1933-34 to 1935-36. It is unknow if the teams are linked.
